An exhibition space for exploring what it means to be human today, discovering the humanity that connects us and understanding the contemporary issues that confuse us.

EXHIBITS

CAFE

We integrate food & drink, as an opportunity to get reluctant people in the door, give them a space to reflect, and then talk to their friends about what they think.

STUDIO

A creative space for young people to learn the basic skills of creativity, communication, and collaboration, while also being a resource for adults on tricky topics.

A MUSEUM OF THE MODERN HUMAN EXPERIENCE

Exploring:
What's Going On

What does it mean to be a human being in the world today? It may be informed by history, or culture, or other evergreen topics, but it is uniquely of this moment.

We curate content that is, at its core, about what is going on in the zeitgeist; the big events, questions, and ideas that are driving conversations across the globe. Our exhibition space blends current events and evergreen topics, relating what's going on in the world today, to the essential nature that makes us human.

With the Right Facilitation, Something Wonderful Happens

The human touch our facilitators put on the visitor experience is the key to success. By guiding learners through an inquiry based experience facilitators help people harness their innate curiosity about the world and begin to investigate it in ways that are respectful, meaningful, and well informed. We stretch learners beyond a performative facade and create real action through learning.

A GLOBAL NETWORK OF UBUNTU LABS

Local Roots
Global Citizens

By creating small museums in neighborhoods across the world we are attracting a primarily local audience into local conversations. By connecting the exhibits and explorations in those small museums across the world we are creating global conversations and bringing opportunities to learn across cultural and national borders. This increases the variety, repeatability, and authenticity of our experiences, with an eye towards helping people establish a rooted cosmopolitan outlook.

Learners get to tap into a truly global discussion, the content they are interacting with is being shaped and shared in real time around the world, by their peers, experts, and lab facilitators.

CONNECTED

CROSS-CULTURAL

Visitors get some of the most critical benefits of immersive travel without leaving their neighborhood, by hearing from ordinary people about the everyday stories of extraordinary events.

LOCALIZED

Our exhibits are localized across the world. Starting with language and cultural adaptation, and moving on to local contextualization of current events, our labs are meaningful to real people in real places.

A DIGITAL EXHIBITION PLATFORM

Anyone
Anywhere

Anytime

Our digital exhibit platform allows us to deliver content that is of the moment and connect these spaces in real time across the world. It is blurring the boundaries of in-person, online, and augmented learning. Part authoring tool, part content management system, part virtual field trip portal, this piece of infrastructure allows us to develop and present our exhibits with unprecedentedly short turn arounds while reaching unprecedentedly large audiences.

Blending information from leading experts on a topic with insightful stories from those who have actually lived it, we create content that is both rigorous and relevant.

CO-DEVELOPED

BLENDED

By blending digital and physical elements in our spaces and in everyday life, we help learners contextualize and make concrete abstract ideas and concepts.
